POTENTIAL X FOR X DEGRADE

An artist's book accompanying a prose piece of the same name, later published in ink&coda; the originary text is translated repeatedly through a series of experimental translations (visual-thematically, homolexically, through Google Translate, Google Search, through letter scrambling, through image, through sound) until the original text's form, content, and meaning have all degraded and/or been transformed.

Hand-sewn and perfect bound in an edition of 10.
GLOSSOLALIC

Poetry of sense and nonsense, comprehensibility and incomprehensibility, holes and scatterings, an addiction to nonsense and to not being understood.

Hand-sewn in an edition of 5.
BRIEF HISTORIES OF THE SOUTH

Appropriating images from online historical databases of the town of Gurley, AL and mixing them with poetry, fictions, biographies, and autobiography, Brief Histories of the South is an attempt to engage with the ideas of mixing and crossing art and self in the politically and emotionally complicated histories of family and ancestry.

Hand-sewn in an edition of 20.
THE EYEWITNESS: A POST MODERN PHRENOLOGY

Text from Eyewitness to America, an anthology of eye-witness and journalist accounts of historical events, is erased, fragmented, and assigned to different sections of a phrenology chart: the eye-witness, the journalist, the act of witnessing, the illusion of truth of witnessing, and historical selectivity are here associated with different parts of the brain and are indicators of the self-type. The text is accompanied by collages of images from the Harter's Picture Archive for Collage and Illustration.

Hand-sewn in an edition of 1.
